North Salinas High School, Spring 2022

Students from North Salinas High School in Salinas, California participated in the Western Flyer Foundation’s Science Illustration Mentorship program. In this program professional scientific illustrators visit classes to teach illustration techniques and to share information about careers in art. This class worked with their visiting art mentor and learned to use pen and ink and watercolor paints.  They created illustrations from reference photos and samples that they brought into class.

This project is funded in part by a grant from the Community Impact fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County and a Humanities for All Quick Grant from California Humanities.
